Becky Spragins, Owner
Becky was raised in a Christian home in Illinois and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age. Having grown up on a farm, she developed a strong work ethic. As a fourth-grade student, she started her first business with a single Black Angus calf and eventually had a small herd of 20. She started her own cleaning business while in high school, and she ran a catering business for a short time while in college. Afterward, the Lord opened the door for her to work in various executive/administrative positions with some of the largest health care companies in the world.
In 1992, Becky married George Spragins, left her business career behind, and became a full-time wife and homemaker. George's success in business allowed her to devote her spare time and energy to the things she enjoyed most—ministry, music, interior design, and gardening. However, that came to an abrupt halt in July of 2005 when George was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. He went home to be with the Lord one month later. Shortly after his passing, a quotation from her study Bible seemed to jump out at her: "When the Lord takes one partner … He gives to the one remaining a new assignment to ministry and a fresh opportunity for spiritual growth" (Dorothy K. Patterson). Within five months the Lord had moved Becky to Greenville, SC to be near her family and oversee the care of her aging parents.
In 2005 Becky wanted to do something in George’s memory that would help others. She initiated contact with a Christian university and two years later, the Science & Engineering Endowment was founded. Consequently, a Cancer Research Lab was opened in 2010. She would love nothing more than for Christian students to find a cure for cancer.
In 2006, Becky purchased Genesis Marketing Group. God has been abundantly gracious in allowing Genesis to maintain its position as the leading sales rep group in the Christian gift/publishing industry. In 2008, she purchased Precept Marketing Group. She sold it in 2016 after eight remarkably successful years. Shortly thereafter, she became an investor in Broad Insights, a thriving business coaching firm.
During the years she has lived in the Greenville area, Becky has enjoyed getting to know college students from missionary families. She has opened her home to most of their family members that have traveled long distances for visits, graduations, etc. Becky's companion and bodyguard, a Lab/Boxer mix named Samson, loves to meet the guests and enjoys the added attention.
Recycled Blessings is a ministry that Becky founded in 1998. Several team members use their design skills/talents to repair/enhance the homes of single men, single women, and single parents. In return, they are asked to share their blessing with others in the future.
Becky believes that the Lord has provided, and that we should be good stewards of what He has entrusted to us because it all belongs to Him.
